Vigezzina Centovalli Railway – The Foliage Train
The true magic of the Vigezzina Centovalli Railway comes alive most dramatically between October and November, when the route transforms into the spectacular “Foliage Train”.
Summer on Lake Maggiore is the best antidote to boredom, with a long list of events and festivals that combine music, good food, and fine wine. Here are my tips for a unique experience and enriching your holiday with new emotions and flavors.
Stresa Festival of Classical Music: July 17th to September 6th.
Founded in 1961 by Italo Trentinaglia de Daverio, a noble Venetian lawyer, the Festival offers concerts of ancient, classical, and jazz music in evocative locations such as “La Catapulta” on Isola Bella, an acoustic stage designed by Michele De Lucchi for the Festival.
Festival Lago Maggiore Musica 2025: July 25th to August 23rd.
The Gioventù Musicale d’Italia music festival kicks off Friday, July 25, and ends Saturday, August 23, 2025. It features a series of concerts, part of a packed program that unfolds in the heart of the summer season, offering an unmissable musical panorama.
Malescorto 2025: International Short Film Festival in Malesco from July 21 to 26.
Since 1999, Malescorto has brought the best of international short films to the mountains of the Vigezzo Valley.
Tones on the Stones: June 13 to September 7, Ossola.
In 2020, while theaters around the world were forced to close due to the pandemic, a stone theater immersed in nature was born in the Ossola mountains.
This new, large-scale project was named Tones Teatro Natura, combining the artistic roots of Tones on the Stones with the transformation of the former Cava Roncino industrial site into a permanent theater immersed in nature, through a process of profound environmental redevelopment.
Tones Teatro Natura is now a space dedicated to culture, the local area, and young citizens, to whom it offers a bold vision for building a better and more sustainable future for all, based on the principles of the 2030 Agenda and the European Green Deal.
Miasino Classic Jazz Festival: from August 1st to August 3rd in Miasino (Villa Nigra).
The Corte Nobile di Villa Nigra, where all editions of the festival have taken place, has seen the biggest names in jazz, especially Italian, perform, cementing the festival, which has always spanned three evenings, as one of the most important in the area, as well as a national benchmark, as evidenced by the growing interest from musicians and the media.
Pirates of Rock: August 2nd in Malesco.
For those looking for a more lively event, Pirates of Rock is a colorful festival where you can spend 10 hours of pure rock music fun.
For those who prefer food and wine, we recommend these events:
Snail Festival: August 16-18 in Preglia di Crevoladossola – https://sagreossola.it/sagra-della-lumaca/
Lake Flavors: August 22-25 and from August 29 to September 2 in Baveno. https://www.bavenoturismo.it/eventi/sapori-di-lago-19-edizione/
Potato Festival: August 23-26 in Montecrestese.. https://promontecrestese.it/sagra-della-patata/
Tell me how you’d like to spend your summer evenings on Lake Maggiore, and I’ll create your ideal itinerary. I’m waiting for you!

There is a place, among the woods and mountains of Ossola, that preserves an ancient freshness and hidden charm: the Ornavasso marble quarry.

Mergozzo is a cozy village on the shores of a small, clear lake, surrounded by mountains that are reflected in the water and protect the town as if in an embrace.

When I guide my guests on private tours of Lake Maggiore, this is my goal: to give the gift of quality time, authentic emotions, and unforgettable moments. Every itinerary I create is a unique story, built by listening to the dreams and expectations of those who choose me.

Vitello Tonnato is a surprising combination of flavors, a recipe that reflects the creativity and love of good food typical of our region.
